Highwaymen Team Stableford
Tony Castelo, Geoff Lloyd, Paul Rozier and Alf Scott won the event with 77 points, ahead of John Chapman, Alan Dowsett, Tim Ockenden and Terry Kendall in second. The Highwaymen also played a match against Milford which followed on from the above team event, resulting in a 5-1 victory.
The Ling Trophy
Windlesham Seniors recorded a first round win against The Drift GC in this Surrey Knockout. The team of Lee Wood, Mick Archbold, Chris Pritchard, Andy Fielding, Malcolm Wells, Paul Humphries, Danny McNulty, Jeff Rankin, Malcolm Lucas and John Moynihan won the contest 3-1 with one match all square. The second round match will be against Purley Downs or Royal Wimbledon at Windlesham in early May.
Tigers vs Clandon Regis
The Tigers kicked off their season last Thursday at home to Clandon Regis. Having gone unbeaten in 2015, the pressure was on, but the team was up for the challenge on an afternoon which brought all four seasons in the space of a few hours. Captained by Malcolm Wells, the team of Jason Grech, David Calcutt, Andrew Rudkin, Andrew Keyes, Phill Utting, John Belchier and Rajiv Patel managed a hard fought 2-2 draw. The second game of the season sees the team host Merrist Wood on Thursday, 21 April.
Ladies Centenary Bowl vs Puttenham
Windlesham Ladies played the second leg of the first round fixture against Puttenham GC in the Surrey Centenary Bowl competition on Saturday. Unfortunately the 4-1 deficit from the first leg was just a little too much to overcome as the team were unable make up the ground, losing by the same margin, making the overall result 8-2 to Puttenham. Thanks go to the valiant efforts of the team - Angela Kokaram, Evelyn Somerville, Alison Lavis, Ruth Knowles and last-minute substitute Trish Barnett. An unfortunate defeat in the end with some closely fought battles in a friendly atmosphere. Puttenham go through to the next round, where we wish them well.

Friday Night Roll-Up
Last Friday's Masters Roll-Up witnessed 36 competitors taking part - more than any Friday last year. Many thanks to all those who came and made it a good afternoon/evening. Congratulations go to Rob Nesbitt for winning the event with 21 points, two ahead of Jason Grech in second. Martin Aikman's 18 points was good enough for third on countback. Also, well done to Jeff Rankin who won the Masters Draw pot for picking out the player with the lowest second round score on Friday of the 26 drawn. Look out for more "special" Friday Roll-Up promotions throughout the season.

Here is what's happening at the club over the next few weeks:
Wed 20 Apr - Ladies Stableford
Fri 22 Apr - Friday Roll-Up
Sat 23 Apr - Men's Div 1 Stableford
Sun 24 Apr - Ladies Medal
Wed 27 Apr - Ladies Medal & Alternative Stableford

Masters Sunday Members Events
Last weekend saw another fabulously supported Masters Event. A total of 32 adult players and their 21 junior caddies turned out to contest the Golden Pound Trophy, whilst another nine junior caddies supported those playing in the 9-hole Sunday social event.
The spritely Infantiles took on the wily Ancients with the former coming through as victors. Although three matches went to the 18th hole, the margin was a rather convincing 5.5-2.5. Amidst the lively post-match banter, Chris Pritchard presented the Golden Pound to Mick Archbold who accepted it on behalf of the Infantiles, retaining the trophy for another year. A big thank you to Lee Mucklow, Richard Bishton, Ben Ross and their team of juniors for giving up their time to support the event. Through the efforts of all concerned a fabulous £480 was raised for the Captain's charity, which Lee presented to Club Captain Chris Pritchard. The stories of what could have been, the missed putts and the bragging rights continued into the evening as everyone settled down to watch Danny Willett take the 'other' Masters trophy. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Sunday Golf and Social
Six teams took part in the Masters Sunday Golf and Social. With it being Masters Sunday we decided to change the format from a texas scramble to best two from three scores to count, played as a stableford. The winning team was Victoria Westgarth, Angela Gower and Dave Barnett with 40 points.
Order of Merit Explained
The order of merit competition runs between 1st April and 30th September, and includes weekend qualifying competitions only. Points are allocated in descending order of where you finish, however last place will receive zero points with second to last place receiving one point - unless the last place is an NR and then zero points will be awarded. For example, if there are 45 people in a competition then first place will receive 45 points.
Car Valeting
The car valet will be back again this coming Saturday between 8:30am and 2pm. Full clean inside and out costs just £25 and he really does a fantastic job. If you would like to book in for this then please contact the pro shop.
